Alternative Support Resources - Before it gets to a crisis

Here is a list of numbers and websites you can contact for support or help. It is a good idea to keep these numbers where you can find them without effort. Services such as Breathing Space (0800 83 85 87) and the Samaritans (116123) and NHS24 (08454 242424) offer a listening service and signposting. Local government websites are more appropriate if you need help to find something more long term.

The Tayside Computerised Cognitive Behaviour Therapy Service (cCBT) has introduced two new online treatment packages to benefit patients.
  • The Tayside cCBT services provides a wide range of interactive, online psychological self-help treatments, including programmes focusing on a range of different anxiety disorders, depression, psychological distress related to long term health conditions, perinatal wellbeing and packages to improve psychological wellbeing.  The service has recently added two new programmes which can be accessed by anyone and do not require a referral:
    • Sleepio – an online cCBT treatment package to treat insomnia and improve sleep – www.sleepio.com/nhs
You do not need to be referred into the Tayside cCBT service to access the Sleepio and Daylight programmes.
